These collages were based in part on the paintings, and drawings of Paul Klee , other ideas running through were sayings, one bird in the hand etc. They were all created using coloured tissue paper, sprayed with water , dried and cut into shapes.

Tempera images are painted on wood panels with pigment and egg yolk, or tempera also comes in tubes.  The method requires the artist to paint many many layers of thin tempera paint so that the final  picture has a translucent look.
